Make your websitework with the restof your business.
The difficult part is often what happens behind the page. We connect websites to the systems they depend on, and build custom functionality when an off-the-shelf setup can’t handle the job.
Systems connected on the Michigan Humane website. Each is a third-party product; the integration work is ours.
How we approach it
Connected, tested, and documented.
- Requirements and data flowWhat moves where, how often, and who relies on it.
- Existing tools firstWe check what your current platforms can already do before building anything.
- Integration implementationFeeds, APIs, forms and sync, built and connected.
- Exceptions and failuresWhat happens when a feed is late or a record doesn’t match.
- TestingReal data, edge cases, and the people who use it every day.
- Documentation and ownershipWho maintains it, and what to do when something changes.

Can our existing tools connect?
Often, yes. Most platforms offer an API, a feed or an embed. We’ll check what yours support before recommending anything new.
When is custom development justified?
When the job is central to how you operate and no existing tool handles it well. RE-TREE’s marketplace backend is an example.
Who maintains the integration?
We agree on that before launch. We can maintain it, or document it so your team or another developer can.
What happens when an external API changes?
Integrations need attention when a provider changes something. Ongoing support covers watching for that and making the fix.
